  1. The research should be characterized by originality, novelty, innovation, and a cognitive contribution to the field.

  2. The researcher has not previously published their research.

  3. The research should not be extracted from a scientific thesis (Master’s/Doctorate) or previously published works by the researcher.

  4. The researcher must adhere to academic integrity.

  5. The research should follow the methodology and principles of scientific research.

  6. The research must not violate the rules, regulations, or public ethics of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

  7. The researcher should observe academic integrity and the guidelines for citation and referencing.

  8. Linguistic accuracy, clarity of images, illustrations, and tables, if present, must be ensured. The journal reserves the right to review editing and grammatical accuracy.

  1. The research should include: a title page, an abstract in both Arabic and English, an introduction, the main body of the research, a conclusion with results and recommendations, a list of sources and references in both Arabic and English, and any necessary appendices (if applicable).

  2. If the research is published, the researcher will be provided with an electronic copy of the journal issue in which their research was published, along with an abstract of their research.

  3. If the research is accepted for publication, all publishing rights will be transferred to the journal. The journal may republish it in print or electronically, and may include it in local and global databases—with or without compensation—without requiring the researcher’s permission.

  4. The researcher cannot republish the accepted research in the journal without written permission from the editor-in-chief of the journal.

  5. The opinions expressed in the published research represent the views of the researchers and do not reflect the opinion of the Journal of Humanities.

  6. Publishing in the journal requires a fee of 1000 SAR, which must be deposited into the journal’s account after the researcher is notified of the initial acceptance. This fee is non-refundable, whether the research is published or rejected by the reviewers.

  1. Initial Evaluation of Research Papers: Compliance and Field Relevance:

The editorial board subjects all submitted research papers to a thorough preliminary examination to ensure compliance with the journal’s guidelines and ethical publishing principles. The content must also align with the journal’s scope and objectives, maintain language and style integrity, and be free from plagiarism or methodological flaws. If a paper fails to meet these criteria, it may be returned to the author for revision or rejected without peer review.

  2. Double-Blind Peer Review Process:

To ensure scientific quality, if the paper passes the initial evaluation, it is sent to at least two experts for review under a “double-blind” system, where the identities of the authors and reviewers are kept anonymous. The reviewers assess the originality of the research, its scientific value, adherence to methodology, and the use of recent sources, providing specific recommendations regarding the potential for publication or required revisions.

  3. Role of the Editorial Board in Making the Final Decision:

The editorial board reviews the reviewers’ reports and analyzes their recommendations to decide whether the paper is accepted as is, requires revision, or is unsuitable for publication. If revisions are needed, the final publication is contingent on the author’s responsiveness to the scientific suggestions.

  4. Revisions by the Author: Scientific Response to Recommendations:

If revisions are requested, the author must clarify how each comment in the review reports has been addressed and provide a revised manuscript highlighting the changes made. The revised manuscript is then presented to the final acceptance committee for further review, and additional rounds of revisions may be requested. Typically, the journal does not allow more than two rounds of major revisions.

  5. Notification of Publication Decision and Schedule:

If the paper is accepted for publication, the editorial board informs the author of the final decision, specifying the deadline for submitting the final version for proofreading, along with the issue in which the paper will be published. Rejected papers are not returned to the authors.

  6. Production and Final Editing Stage:

Accepted papers undergo a complete production process, including text editing, formatting, language proofreading, terminology adjustments, and consistency checks. A professional team handles this phase to ensure the highest editorial quality. Authors are given a final opportunity to review the manuscript and make minor adjustments before publication.

  7. Objection and Scientific Appeal Mechanism:

If the author disagrees with the editorial decision to reject the paper after revisions, they may submit a detailed report with precise scientific arguments. The editorial board then reassesses the decision by consulting a relevant board member or additional reviewers. The final decision is made by the editor-in-chief based on this review.

  8. Post-Publication: Interaction and Scientific Corrections:

The journal adheres to an open access policy and encourages constructive scientific discussion by accepting feedback and comments on published works. Any ethical violations discovered post-publication are taken seriously, and appropriate actions are taken.

  9. Correction of Scientific Errors Post-Publication:

If significant errors are found in a published work, the author must correct them immediately, and the journal will publish the corrections in the next issue. Minor errors that do not affect the results are not published, but authors are encouraged to carefully proofread their work to avoid such mistakes in the future.

  10. Scientific Withdrawal Policy: Ensuring Academic Integrity:

The editorial board reserves the right to retract any research paper found to contain scientific misconduct, such as data falsification, plagiarism, or duplicate publication, after reviewing the evidence and informing all concerned parties. The retraction decision is made in accordance with recognized scientific publishing ethics.

First: Rights of the Scientific Journal

  1. Journal’s Authority in Managing the Publication Process: The journal retains the right to review all submitted papers through an initial evaluation to determine their suitability for peer review or rejection without providing justification. The journal is committed to a clear timeline, informing the researcher of acceptance or rejection within six weeks. If accepted, the paper will be published immediately under a continuous publication system within a maximum period of ten weeks.

  2. Automatic Withdrawal of Paper Due to Delayed Revisions: A paper will be automatically withdrawn if the researcher does not make the required revisions within two weeks of receiving the feedback, unless the researcher provides an acceptable justification as determined by the editorial board.

  3. Intellectual Property and Copyright: Copyright for the paper is transferred to the journal upon acceptance. The paper cannot be republished in any form (paper or electronic) without written permission from the editor-in-chief. The journal also retains the right to include the paper in local or international databases, whether for a fee or without compensation.

  4. Technical and Editorial Modifications: The editorial board has the right to make necessary technical and editorial adjustments to the paper, including citation, language, tables, figures, and appendices, to ensure compliance with publication standards.

  5. Editorial Responsibility Limits: The opinions and conclusions expressed in the published papers reflect the views of the authors only and do not necessarily represent the stance of the journal. Researchers are fully responsible for the accuracy of the information provided.

Second: Responsibilities and Rights of the Researcher

  1. Transparency in Communication with the Researcher: The researcher will be notified of the receipt of their paper electronically via the adopted system and will receive the initial review decision within two weeks. The results of peer review will be communicated within two weeks of receiving the reviewers’ reports.

  2. Final Confirmation and Publication: The researcher will be issued an official notification of acceptance for publication after submitting the final version incorporating the required revisions. A digital copy of the issue containing the paper will be sent to the researcher.

  3. Rights to Re-publish and Withdraw Paper: The paper cannot be republished without written permission, and it cannot be withdrawn after the review process has started unless the journal exceeds the specified response time (ten weeks).

  4. Adherence to Ethical and Scientific Standards: The researcher must fully comply with the ethics of publication, maintain scientific integrity, respect intellectual property rights, disclose any conflicts of interest or financial support, and clarify individual contributions in the case of co-authorship.

  5. Ensuring Originality of the Work: The submission of previously published works, in full or in part, in any language is prohibited. Additionally, the researcher cannot submit the paper to other entities during the journal’s review period.

  6. Revisions and Response to Peer Review: The researcher commits to making the required revisions within two weeks of the request, providing explanations for any unmodified sections. The final version of the paper will be sent to the researcher for review before publication.

Third: Responsibilities of Peer Reviewers

  1. Timely Commitment and Professional Review: The reviewer must respond to the review invitation within three days and complete the evaluation within two weeks. The review must be conducted with utmost integrity, without bias, and according to the reviewer’s expertise.

  2. Confidentiality of Information and Non-exploitation: The paper is considered confidential and cannot be discussed or used in any way for personal gain. Reviewers’ comments should focus on the content of the paper, not on the researcher.

  3. Plagiarism Detection and Verification: The reviewer must provide detailed comments based on the journal’s review template. If plagiarism or self-plagiarism is suspected, the reviewer must identify the suspected areas and provide supporting evidence.

Fourth: Responsibilities of the Journal’s Editorial Board

  1. Ensuring Quality of Peer Review Content: The editorial board is committed to sending papers to specialized reviewers chosen based on precise scientific criteria, considering institutional and geographical diversity.

  2. Fairness in Evaluation and Review: The editorial board exercises its powers impartially, without unlawful discrimination between researchers. A reasonable opportunity is given to researchers to respond to reviewers’ comments.

  3. Confidentiality and Privacy: The editorial board ensures the confidentiality of the submitted papers and the researchers’ information during the peer review process and does not disclose any details without legal justification.

  4. Flexibility in Selecting Reviewers: The researcher may request the exclusion of a particular reviewer before the review process begins. The editorial board will consider the request objectively. Reviewers must disclose any potential conflicts of interest before agreeing to the review assignment.

  5. Follow-up and Final Notification: The editor-in-chief is responsible for notifying the researcher of the final publication decision, determining the issue in which the paper will appear, and providing necessary support during the final stages of publication.

The Humanities Journal adheres to a strict and precise policy regarding scientific plagiarism, within the framework of respecting scientific integrity and ensuring the originality of the published research. The journal emphasizes the necessity for submitted papers to be original works, not previously published or submitted for publication in any other scientific platform.

The editorial board is responsible for examining all submitted papers using specialized software to detect similarity and plagiarism, such as Turnitin and iThenticate, before sending them for scientific review. The results of this examination form part of the preliminary evaluation upon which the acceptance or rejection decision is based.

In cases where high similarity percentages or signs of partial or full plagiarism are detected, the paper is referred to a specialized editorial committee for further review. The author may be asked to make the necessary revisions to comply with ethical publishing standards. If a serious violation of scientific integrity is confirmed, the responsible researcher will bear full responsibility, and the journal will take appropriate procedural actions, which may include rejection, retraction, or official reporting to the relevant authorities.

As part of its ongoing efforts to achieve quality standards and scientific dissemination, the Journal of Human Sciences has succeeded in obtaining indexing and accreditation from a number of prestigious global and Arab databases and search engines. This achievement reflects the journal’s scientific status and enhances the chances of its published research reaching a wide audience of researchers and academics worldwide.

Indexing in these databases is an important factor in increasing the impact and citation of research, as it contributes to enhancing the journal’s credibility within the international scientific community and affirms its commitment to the editorial and ethical standards recognized in academic publishing.

The Humanities Journal adopts an “Open Access” policy, where all scientific research published in the journal is made available to readers immediately upon release, without any subscription or registration restrictions. This approach reflects the journal’s commitment to supporting knowledge dissemination and enabling researchers and interested individuals to freely access high-quality scientific content.

This policy allows for the reuse, copying, distribution, and citation of the published scientific materials, within the established publishing guidelines, which helps expand the scientific impact of the research and enhances international academic interaction. Through this practice, the journal encourages the publication of human knowledge in open and transparent horizons, serving the academic community and upholding the principles of scientific fairness.

The citation style adopted by the journal is the American Psychological Association (APA 7) system.

  1. The citation rate in research should not exceed 25%.

  2. The first page of the research should include the title of the research, the name of the researcher(s), the institution they belong to, their affiliation, the correspondence address, and the email address. This page should be in both Arabic and English and placed at the beginning of the research. Any financial support for the research, if applicable, should be declared. The researcher should also include their ORCID number immediately after their name. It is recommended that all researchers obtain a personal ORCID number, and this number is required if the research is accepted for publication.

  3. The researcher’s name should appear only on the title page of the research.

  4. The research should not exceed thirty pages or 12,000 words, whichever is less, including the Arabic and English abstracts, and the references list.

  9. The font for tables should be “Traditional Arabic” with a size of 10 for Arabic and “Times New Roman” with a size of 9 for English. Headings in tables should be in bold (Roman) in both languages.

  10. The researcher should romanize Arabic references (scientific papers and theses), meaning the Arabic references (researches and theses only) should be translated into English and included in the English references list (while keeping them in Arabic in the Arabic references list). The name(s) of the author(s) should be romanized, followed by the publication year in parentheses. Then, the title should be added, and the phrase “(in Arabic)” should follow the title of the thesis or research. Afterward, the name of the journal in English should be included, if available. If not, it should be translated into English.

Example:

Al-Shammari, Ali bin Issa. (2020). The effectiveness of an electronic program based on the Keeler Model (ARCS) in developing the motivation towards my language subject among sixth graders. (in Arabic). Journal of Human Sciences, University of Hail. 1(6), 98-87.
